Terms of Service

Who you are agreeing with

Christian Adult Blocker (the app) is operated by Lightpath Digital, a studio based in Finland. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean Lightpath Digital, and "you" means you, the person using the app.

These terms work together with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your information.

Who can use the app

You must be 13 or older. The app talks frankly about pornography and recovery from it, so it is written for teenagers and adults rather than young children.

Some countries set a higher age at which you can agree to something like this on your own. If you are under that age where you live, you need a parent or guardian to agree to these terms with you. By using the app you confirm you meet the age requirement and that what you tell us is accurate.

You also need to be legally able to enter into this agreement, and not barred from using the app under any applicable law or by a previous ban from us.

What the app is, and is not

The app is a self-help and faith-based support tool. It offers a content blocker, daily check-ins, a journal, setback logging, Scripture reading and memorisation, fasting records, a signed covenant, an AI companion, a moderated community, accountability partners, and reminders.

Recovery is personal, and results differ from person to person. We do not promise any particular outcome.

Your account

• Keep your email and password secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• Turning on two-factor authentication is a good idea, and it is available in the app.
• One account per person. Do not share your account or let someone else use it.
• Tell us promptly at hello@christianadultblocker.com if you think someone else has got into your account.

Acceptable use and community rules

The community works because people are honest and safe with each other. When you post, comment, react, use the prayer wall, or send a direct message, you agree not to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, shame or abuse anyone.
• Post sexual or explicit material, including anything describing pornography in a way designed to arouse. This is a recovery space, and that content puts other people at risk.
• Post hateful, violent, illegal or deliberately harmful content.
• Share anyone else's private information, or repost what someone told you in confidence.
• Impersonate another person, spam, advertise, or recruit for anything.
• Use the app to sell, promote or link to adult content or services.
• Try to break, probe, overload or reverse engineer the app, its servers, or its security, or use it through automated means.
• Use another person's account, or evade a ban.

Photos you send in messages or attach to posts are covered by the same rules.

The blocker is not a guarantee

The blocker is a strong aid. It is not a wall, and we will not pretend it is.

• It cannot catch everything. New sites and apps appear constantly and detection is never perfect.
• It depends on permissions you grant, including the Accessibility Service, and on your device, its manufacturer's power settings, and your Android version.
• A determined person can get around it. Uninstall protection, the content filter and the app disguise raise the effort required. They do not make it impossible.
• You remain responsible for your own choices. We are not liable for content the blocker does not catch.

If you use an accountability partner, they are notified when you turn protection off. That is the feature working as intended.

The AI companion and its limits

The companion is powered by Google Gemini, reached through our own server. What is sent to Google is described in the Privacy Policy, and you should read that part before you use it.

• It can be wrong. AI produces confident text that is sometimes simply incorrect.
• It is not professional advice. Do not rely on it for medical, psychological, legal or financial decisions.
• It is not a crisis service. If it detects language suggesting you are in danger, it will point you towards real human help, and you should take that seriously.
• Use is rate limited per day, and those limits can change as the service changes.
• Do not use it to try to generate sexual, explicit, illegal or harmful content, or to extract its instructions.

Availability of AI features depends on a third party. They may be interrupted, changed or withdrawn.

Premium, billing and refunds

Some features are part of an optional paid tier called Premium.

• Premium is sold and billed through Google Play Billing. Google takes the payment. We never see or store your card details.
• Purchases are verified on our server before Premium is unlocked. If a purchase cannot be verified, or is later refunded, reversed or cancelled, we may remove the entitlement.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the price and interval shown in Google Play until you cancel. Manage or cancel yours in your Google Play account settings.
• Refunds are handled by Google under Google Play's refund policy. We do not process payments, so we cannot issue a refund directly.
• Nothing here removes any mandatory consumer right you have under the law of the country you live in, including any statutory right to cancel.
• Prices and what is included in Premium can change. We will not change the price of a subscription you are already paying without telling you first through Google Play.

Ads on the free tier

The free tier is supported by ads served through Google AdMob. Ads are never shown on crisis screens or urge-help screens. We do not control which specific ads Google serves, and we are not responsible for the content of an advertisement or of anything it links to.

Your content

What you write stays yours. Your journal, your check-ins, your covenant, your posts and your messages belong to you. We do not claim ownership of them.

To run the service we need your permission to handle them. So you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, back up, sync, display and transmit your content, only as far as is needed to operate and support the app and the features you use. For anything you post publicly in the community, that licence extends to showing it to other users of the app, as you intended when you posted it.

The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where a copy has to remain for the limited reasons set out in the Privacy Policy, such as a legal requirement or a safety record. It does not let us sell your content or use it in advertising.

You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm you have the right to post it.

Our content

The app itself, its name, design, artwork, written material and code are owned by Lightpath Digital and protected by law. Scripture text is used from a public domain translation. You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial recovery. You may not copy, resell, redistribute, modify or make derivative works from the app without our written permission.

Moderation, sanctions and appeals

We moderate the community so it stays safe. Reports can be made by any user and may include evidence photos. Moderators act under an audit log, so their decisions are recorded.

Where these terms are broken, we may:

• Remove or hide content.
• Issue a warning.
• Apply a restriction, limiting what you can do in the community for a period.
• Apply a ban, temporary or permanent.

We aim to match the response to what actually happened, and we take context into account. Serious harm, sexual content, and threats to another person's safety are dealt with quickly and firmly.

Ending it

You can stop at any time. When you delete your account in the app we deactivate it immediately, which hides you from everyone, and we hold your data for 30 days. Sign in within those 30 days and you can restore everything. After 30 days it is permanently erased from our servers and cannot be recovered. Deleting your account does not by itself cancel a Google Play subscription, so cancel that in Google Play as well.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if it is needed to protect other users or the service, or if we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable and safe to do so, we will tell you why.

We may also stop offering the app, or a feature of it. If we retire the whole service we will give reasonable notice so you can get your data out.

Disclaimers

The app is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, timely, error free, or that the blocker will catch all explicit content, or that AI output will be accurate.

Parts of the app depend on services run by other companies, including Google and Supabase. If they are unavailable, parts of the app will be too.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Lightpath Digital is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app, including anything the blocker did not catch and anything the AI got wrong.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty euro.

Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland, and the courts of Finland have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country, and you may be able to bring proceedings there.

Changes to these terms

We will update these terms as the app changes. The date at the top always shows the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect where we reasonably can. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, you can delete your account.
